Spiritual Fitness, Week 2, Day 1

1Sam 3:10, "Speak for your servant hears."

Tom asked us this week to have a relationship conversation with our Heavenly Father. Our exercise is to write down several things in each catagory and watch for the answered prayer. "Something happens every time we pray."

Now just because we have definitely heard one thing from God doesn't mean we listen to everything He says.

The destiny of our spiritual life is such identification with Jesus that we always hear from God, and we know that God always hears us (Jn 11:41).  If we are united with Jesus, we hear God by the devotion of hearing all the time. What hinders us from hearing is that we are taken up with other things. It is not that we do not hear God, it is that we are devoted to the wrong place. We may be devoted to things, service, or convictions. God may say what he likes, but we do not hear.

The child attitude, like the verse above, should always be, "Speak, I hear you." If we do not cultivate this devotion to hearing, we will only hear God's voice at certain times, while at other times we are consumed with other things - things that we say we must do - and then become deaf to Him. Friends we must be child-like in our prayers...... Have we heard God's voice today?

Now, that is something to think about.
